"Vivisection is a social evil because if it advances human knowledge, it does so at the expense of human character."
~George Bernard Shaw

I am not interested to know whether vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't.... The pain which it inflicts upon unconsenting animals is the basis of my enmity toward it, and it is to me sufficient justification of the enmity without looking further. ~Mark Twain

How compassionate is your house?

  • Did an animal die to test your toothpaste?
  • Were thousands of rabbits blinded to test your hairspray?
  • Which animals were forced to eat your soap just to see what would happen if YOU took a bite?
  • How about your pet food. Did you know animals may have been killed to test it?
  • Were medically-unnecessary, needlessly expensive
medical tests done to train your doctor or to test a drug you take?

Every time you eat, take a pill, feed your pet, drive your car, wash, scent, polish, dust, or otherwise beautify yourself or your home, you could be supporting a company that performs cruel and needless tests on animals. To find out if the products in your life are compassionate or not, check this site for lists of companies that don't test on animals (as well as a list of those who do):

CaringConsumer.com

And what about animal ingredients? Bet you've got something under your sink, in your purse, in the garage, or in your kitchen that contains animal products, all of which are obtained by cruelly killing the animal who "provided" it. Check this fact-sheet for a list of animal ingredients so you can spot them in your own household:

Animal Ingredients and their Alternatives

You can stop the torture and killing by simply not rewarding the murderers and torturers. Shop wisely. Shop compassionately.
It's easier than you think and the animals are dying to hear you say you will!

If you love your dog or cat, don't feed them IAMS or Eukanuba products. Here's why not: IamsKills.com

At one time, Iams had a response to our charges posted on their site. The link is no longer valid.

NOTE! They don't claim not to test, and admit to doing blood and tissue testing, testing urine and feces, and keeping animals caged in labs for testing their foods and the ingredients used in them. Iams is owned by Proctor & Gamble, one of the most unrepentant testers in the world -- they're responsible for torturing millions of creatures to test their household products -- so it's no wonder that Iams considers testing on animals to be their right. If you think life in a cage and enduring needles and surgical procedures to be any kind of life for a dog or cat, then you agree with Iams. We hope you don't agree and will continue to boycott all Iams and Eukanuba products -- it's important that we let these companies know that any alleged "benefits" to people or companion animals is not justified by the suffering endured by the animals in their labs. It's a new mind-set for many people, to realize that animals are not here for our use, no matter how lofty one's motives for using the animals might be.
